Client Overview
A mid-market e-commerce company with $50M in annual revenue was struggling with an aging monolithic platform that couldn't handle peak traffic and was slowing down feature delivery.
The Challenge
The legacy monolith was built on outdated technology, making it difficult to recruit developers and impossible to scale individual components. Deployments were risky all-or-nothing affairs that required weekend maintenance windows, and the platform regularly crashed during sales events.
Our Solution
DHD Tech assembled a team of four senior engineers -- two backend, one frontend, and one DevOps specialist -- who executed a strangler fig migration over 8 months. Critical services (cart, checkout, search) were extracted into independent microservices, a new React storefront was built, and the entire infrastructure was migrated from on-premise servers to AWS EKS with auto-scaling capabilities.

Results
"The migration was seamless -- our customers didn't notice a thing, but our engineering team noticed everything. We ship features in days now, not months."
